VIEW-IT®, a high-efficiency, laser-sensitive ceramic disc, provides a convenient method of viewing beam shape, mode structure and beam alignment when held in the path of a laser beam.

VIEW-IT® provides an unlimited period of viewing for both pulsed and continuous wave lasers.  Beam quality and mode structures can be observed in real time. 
Principle of Operation: White ceramic disc with strong nonlinear (up-conversion) on a base of unique ion combination. This nonlinear optical process doubles the initial laser beam frequency. For example, if an initiated wavelength of 1064 nm (1.06 µ) strikes the VIEW-IT® disc, it will be observed as green light.

Configurations: The VIEW-IT® disc is a ceramic disc, 40 mm in diameter and 5 mm thick. It is available on an adjustable, freestanding base (pictured) for ease of use. It is also available as hand-held metal wand for manual insertion into the laser beam path.
Easy Maintenance: Should the rear surface of VIEW-IT® become damaged, it can be re-faced easily using fine sandpaper.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Stimulation range:  800-1700 nm (IR) and 190-390 nm (UV)
Emission color:  green - 530 nm (IR) and red/orange - 620-660 nm (UV)

Typical Applications:
 

IR - GaAs Laser Diodes (800-830 nm), InGaAs Laser Diodes (880, 960-980 nm), Nd:YAG (1064 nm), Er:Glass (1540 nm), telecommunications.

UV - Excimer Lasers, Gas lasers, tripled Nd:YAG or Alexandrite.

Persistence (stimulation removed):  less than 10 msec for both IR and UV
No optical charging necessary.  Real time viewing!
No fading or saturation:  consistent output for steady light input (it's not necessary to move the viewer constantly)
Sensitivity threshold:  Infrared and Ultraviolet viewers, >10 µJ/cm2 (pulsed) and >100 µW/cm2 (CW).
Do not use any VIEW-IT® product in or around the focal point of the laser beam.
Spatial resolution:  better than 20 grooves/mm, meaning that features of less than 50 µm in size can be resolved.
